Father, Stretch My Hands….

If I died at the hands of the system, don’t let them try to taint my image by pulling my prom photo where I wore my gold grille. That was me 10 years ago, NOT yesterday.

If I died at the hands of the system, don’t let them sully my story. Tell them about the good and the bad.  Tell them how I advocated, mentored, and believed in equity for all. Tell them about my strained relationship with my father.

If I died at the hands of the system, know that I wasn’t afraid and I understand what was happening.

If I died at the hands of the system, do more than a hashtag. Wake up and fight back. Not just in the physical sense, hurt the system intellectually, spiritually, and more.

If I died at the hands of the system, tell my kids and family that I love them and will always be watching over them. Their father is proud.

If I died at the hands of the system, tell my wife I love her.

If I died at the hands of the system, let my kids know that everything that I’ve done, I had them in my heart and mind.

If I died at the hands of the system, tell the system to put some RESPEK on my name and ONLY refer to me as DR.JAMAL MYRICK.

If I died at the hands of the system, let the system know that I was a PROUD, EDUCATED, BLACK MAN!
